The electric company pulled a fast one when they got unregulated. What they are trying to pull today is why they wanted to be unregulated. Ameren Cilco wants to be like the oil market. Does Ameren think that people are stupid enough to believe they weren't making money before. If that would have been true they would have been trying to contact congress about the rates. Ameren shows their true colors as a heartless company. They said 55 percent rate hike but some people seen a 300 percent rate hike. Not only did they do that but added fees for the meter and for being a customer. And now a politician says the people don't care if it's a rate hike or a deal. The people do care! I don't want a deal that says I'll get a big one time discount of 30 dollars this summer while Ameren continues to take money from my pocket. I don't think a rate freeze is the answer either, The rates have been frozen for ten years. Maybe a ten percent rate hike and none of these extra fees they want to add. The meter is theirs and has nothing to do with the customers. The charges are for the services provided to us the customer so there is no reason for the customer charge.

A Chicago base Electric Company BlueStar provide Power to a great deal of Chicago's busnisses but no residential homes rely on Ameren for their power. Well in the New Year to come BlueStar Spokes Person told the press that they will start offering Power to chicago residents and of course same type of power for a lower price and first chicago and in time the rest of Illinois giving Ameren some Compatition, which only means lower prices for us in the long run.

Now this is what people want a competition so that other companies will lower their prices.
The problem is that the competition isn't really there. Ameren raised it's rates and keep trying to raise them again and again. If any competition does really show up it will just bring the price back down a little. The price will still be higher then 25 percent in a bill raise from the original pricing before.
So all in all the prices are going to keep going up no matter what. Ameren owns the lines and get money from you no matter what. They will charge for the delivery of the electric.
I haven't reviewed my bill lately I just been paying it but when I reviewed it one time I seen that Ameren double charged you for delivery and get's aways with it. They have a line that say Delivery and a line that says Transmission. Which Transmitting the Electric over the lines is the delivery process.
